Post 5: My Future Job

about my future work… Since I decided to study architecture I knew I wanted to work in social housing design, in fact one of my motivations to study this career was the only Chilean Pritsker award Alejandro Aravena, among his works is the design of social housing. Now I have some criticism of his work but that only makes him a better example to learn from. I would like to work anywhere in Chile because the design has to be linked to my own culture, hopefully in regions to learn more about the reality of the country. My idea is that the design process will be collaborative between citizens and architects and experts in the field, then the work would be largely outdoors. There are three areas in the career that I would like to study and I think that all of them would be a contribution to perform in my dream job, housing policies, sustainability and urbanism. I imagine that this work will be full of difficulties of different kinds, but I am passionate about the idea of provid...

Post 3: My favorite children program

Well, thinking about this topic it made me realize that I didn´t remember much about children´s programs, so I had to google some programs to remember and I found a program that I liked very much in my childhood. In fact, I just saw some episodes to remember better how it was and now more grown up I still find it good hahaha. The program that   I’m talking about is “Las pistas de blue”. I don´t remember how often I watched. What I do remember is that I watched it with my brother and sister, we really liked the show. The program is about a little blue dog called Blue (obiously), and her owner Steve, they had to solve mysteries by looking for the clues that were found in the things inside the house. What I liked most about the program was the atmosphere, it's really funny and nice, it had fun music and Steve had a very friendly attitude that made me empathize with him, plus Blue was very cute. What strikes me the most is the fact that I still remember the songs "el correo ...

Post 2: The best concert ever

Ok, the thing that i will going to say is probably an unpopular opinion and the thing is… i really don´t like concerts. I never think in the idea of buy a ticket to a concert, not because I don´t like music, don´t have favorite artists or something like that; It´s just that I don´t like the idea of being with many people around jumping, screaming, taking photos, and what I dislike the most of all is people singing loud and not very tuned the music that I like and enjoy. After saying all this, I remember that the past year I went to an intimate concert of a band from an acquaintance called “Cardumen” they play jazzfusion, it was in a little gallery in Santiago, next to the building of colegio de arquitectos. It was a good experience since it was in a small place with no more than 50 persons, all of them sitting in their respective chair appreciating good music, just making noise when the song really ends. About the concert itself, I can say that the music they played was very surr...

Post 1: The worst place I have been

without thinking to much, i will say that the worst place i have been it´s Sindempart, Coquimbo. It´s a settlement located in the southern access of the city of Coquimbo. Which occupies the land of an old ranch. It started to satisfy the housing needs of the union of private employees of Coquimbo. In the beginning the first houses were located in a very isolated place, then it began to expand until it reached the coast, next to the Herradura beach.   The Herradura beach is one of the beaches I've been to the most in my life and I really like it, what I don't like is the settlement itself, it's like the streets are always full of dust, there are almost no trees to give shade, people always seem to be angry and public transportation is really inefficient. Perhaps these last two things are related to each other because of the Coquimbo-La Serena conurbation and the long stretches under the northern sun that people have to travel on their way from home to work. Although...

Blog 5: PHOTOGRAPH

I have always wanted to buy an analog camera and walk anywhere spending a film, I remember that in the last year of school I had the opportunity to use a good camera with two lenses and a tripod, I was very happy at that time. The photograph that I select was taken with my cellphone when I was back in chiloe after my first semester at university, I remember I got off the bus, drop my luggage on the floor (since nobody is going steal it here) then I sit on the sidewalk, raise my head and saw how an old house blocked the sunrise and I instantly knew that I had to keep the record. I like this photo because it reminds me the feeling of coming home, it does not matter if I do not live in chiloe anytime in the future, the meaning of the picture it will always be the same for me. Going back home.
